NOTICE

Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 20-0029 Pharmacists.

Effective Date: November 1, 2020.

Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit medicaid SPA 20-0029 in order to clarify that pharmacists are able to provide and bill for services according to their scope of practice, by adding them to the list of "other licensed practitioners" in the medicaid state plan. This is not a change in policy or practice; it is for clarification purposes only.

Because SPA 20-0029 does not change current policy or practice, it is expected to have no effect on the annual aggregate expenditures/reimbursement/payment for pharmacists and the services they provide.

A copy of SPA 20-0039[0029] is available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
