Subject of Possible Rule Making: WAC 182-550-4100 Payment method—New hospitals.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 41.05.021, 41.05.160.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The health care authority (HCA) plans to amend this section to include an exception to per diem rate calculations for psychiatric per diem rates. This aligns with the agency's state plan. During the course of this review, HCA may identify additional related changes that are required in order to improve clarity or update policy.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services via state plan amendment, specifically 4.19-A, Part 1.
