Chapter 200-220 WAC, Use of the public areas of the capitol buildings and grounds | Amend rule to: • Align rules with current practices. • Make rules easier to understand and apply. • Address changing needs of the Capitol Campus. • Align with new legislation. Effective May 13, 2021, SB 5038 prohibits open carry of certain weapons at the state capitol in Olympia. The law applies to all buildings on campus, state legislative offices, any public legislative hearing or meeting, and west capitol campus grounds. | We anticipate filing a prenotice of inquiry (CR-101) with the office of the code reviser in mid-summer. |
