NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS
PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION
[Filed April 26, 2022, 1:05 p.m.]
As required by RCW 42.30.075, Open Public Meeting[s] Act, the following schedule is submitted for publishing in the Washington State Register. The Washington state parks and recreation commission has secured a location to hold its in-person public meeting. The commission will meet on September 21 – 22 at Gladish Community Center, 115 N.W. State Street, Pullman, WA 99163.
The commission holds six regular[ly] scheduled public meetings a year at predetermined locations around the state. Regular meetings run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include an opportunity for public comment. The December meeting is specifically for planning the upcoming year's agenda. Staff will not present any requested actions or reports to the commission.
The commission typically meets in a work session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the day prior to the regular meeting in the same location or at a location near the regular meeting location. Work sessions are educational sessions on park operations and issues that eventually may go before the commission.
Under safe public health conditions, the commission may also tour area sites or parks the day before or following the regular meeting. No public comment and/or formal action are taken at work sessions and tours. The commission chair may call special meetings at any time; all special meetings are announced in advance.
The public is welcome to participate in all state parks and recreation commission regular meetings. If the public health situation improves to hold in-person meetings, the meeting sites will be barrier free to the greatest extent feasible. The commission will provide Braille or taped agenda items for the visually impaired and interpreters for those with hearing impairments if a request is received at the appropriate address shown above at least 10 working days in advance of the scheduled meeting date.
Agendas are posted on the agency website at least one week in advance of meetings at http://parks.state.wa.us.
