Subject: Residential Support Waiver Amendment - Community Stability Supports (CSS).

Proposed Effective Date: July 1, 2023.

Description: The health care authority and the department of social and health services intend to submit an amendment to add a new service to the residential support waiver called CSS.

The residential support waiver provides home and community-based residential services and supports to adults who are returning to the community from a state or community psychiatric hospital, or who have a history of failed or denied community settings. This waiver is designed to provide personal care, specialized services, and behavior support to individuals with challenging behaviors.

The CSS service will provide an increased level of support beyond expanded community services in an assisted living facility by providing the following:

Qualified providers for this service will be licensed assisted living facilities with a contract to provide CSS.
