Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 23-0018 Remove References to Outpatient Hospital Rates.

Effective Date: April 1, 2023.

Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit medicaid SPA 23-0018 to update outpatient hospital services payment information by removing references to outpatient hospital rates as a payment method under outpatient prospective payment system. This method is outdated and no longer used.

SPA 23-0018 is anticipated to have no effect on the aggregate payment, expenditures, or reimbursement for these services.

SPA 23-0018 is in the development process; therefore, a copy is not yet available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
