INTERPRETIVE OR POLICY STATEMENT

In accordance with RCW 34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.

Document Title: Policy Clarification Memo (PCM) 24-001: Canada Joins the 2007 Hague Convention on Child Support.

Subject: Canada Joins the 2007 Hague Convention on Child Support.

Effective Date: January 25, 2024.

Document Description: This policy explains that on October 27, 2023, Canada became party to the Convention of November 23, 2007, on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance (Hague Convention, or the convention). The convention comes into effect for the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba on February 1, 2024. The convention comes into effect for British Columbia on March 1, 2024.
