NOTICE
Title or Subject: Children's Health Insurance Program State Plan Amendment (SPA) 24-2000.
Effective Date: January 1, 2024.
Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) SPA 24-2000 in order to demonstrate compliance with mandatory continuous eligibility (CE) under the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) of 2023. Section 5112 of the CAA, 2023 amended section 1902 (e)(12) and added a new paragraph (K) in section 2107 (e)(1) of the act to require one year of CE under the state plan or a waiver of the state plan for children under age 19 enrolled in medicaid and CHIP.
SPA 24-2000 is expected to have no effect on annual aggregate expenditures/reimbursements/payments to providers as it addresses eligibility only.
SPA 24-2000 is in the development process; therefore, a copy is not yet available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA. To request a copy when it becomes available or submit comments, please contact the person named below by June 7, 2024 (please note that all comments are subject to public review and disclosure, as are the names of those who comment).
