Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 24-0030 Free Standing Psychiatric Hospital Long-Term Civil Commitment Rate Enhancements.

Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit SPA 24-0030 to remove specific dollar amounts for long-term civil commitment per diem rates and add language regarding per diem rate enhancements for Washington state free standing psychiatric hospitals that contract with HCA to provide services for long-term civil commitment patients. These hospitals with patients who are moving from a criminal to civil commitment or who have complex medical needs may receive one rate enhancement per patient per day for such patients. Only Washington state free standing psychiatric hospitals contracted with HCA are eligible for rate enhancements.

SPA 24-0030 is expected to increase reimbursement by $500 per day at free standing psychiatric hospitals that accept such patients.

SPA 24-0029 is under development. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
