NOTICE
Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 24-0032 Supplemental Graduate Medical Education Payments for Trauma.
Effective Date: July 1, 2024.
Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit SPA 24-0032 to update the reimbursement section of the medicaid state plan as follows:
| |
• | Add information regarding supplemental graduate medical education (GME) payments that will be made to eligible in-state universities with medical centers classified as Level I Trauma Centers. |
• | Clarify that hospitals paid by the certified public expenditure method are not eligible for quarterly supplemental trauma payments, but may receive trauma payments through the state-directed payment process. |
• | Remove outdated information regarding the diagnosis-related group payment method and the hospital transfer policy. |
SPA 24-0032 is expected to have no effect on annual aggregate payment/reimbursement/expenditures for supplemental GME trauma payments.
SPA 24-0032 is under development. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
