NOTICE
Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 24-0041 Transplant Services Updates.
Effective Date: January 1, 2025.
Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit SPA 24-0041 to update outdated information to align with current practice and industry standards. These updates include:

| • | Clarifying standards for the provision of transplant services. |
| • | Amending the types of covered transplants and transplant-related procedures. |
| • | Clarifying criteria for coverage of out-of-state transplant services. |
| • | Adding information regarding payment for donor expenses. |
| • | Clarifying noncovered transplant services. |
SPA 24-0041 is expected to have no effect on the annual aggregate expenditures, payment, or reimbursement for transplant services. This SPA adds clarifying and updated language but does not change the amount of payment or how these services are paid for.
A draft of SPA 24-0041 is available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA. To request a copy when it becomes available or submit comments, please contact the person named below by October 1, 2024.
