NOTICE
Medicaid transformation project (MTP) medical respite care (MRC) methodology under health-related social needs program.
Effective Date: January 1, 2025.
The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit a rate methodology for MRC under MTP 2.0 – section 1115 waiver. MRC services provide post-acute care for people experiencing homelessness who are too ill or frail to recover from a physical illness or injury while living on the streets, but who no longer require a hospital stay.
MRC services are expected to increase the annual aggregate expenditures for providers by approximately $6 million under MTP 2.0. Providers will be able to access medicaid waiver funds to provide MRC services.
The MRC fee schedule is available for review at https://www.hca.wa.gov/assets/program/Medical-Respite-Care-fee-shedule.pdf. HCA welcomes interested parties to submit comments and concerns about the rate methodology and/or the effects no later than Monday, December 20, 2024. Note: All comments are subject to public review and disclosure, as are the names of those who comment.
Please submit comments and concerns to Rob McDonough, Medical Respite Program Manager, rob.mcdonough@hca.wa.gov, 360-725-5135, 626 8th Avenue S.E., Olympia, WA 98501.
