WITHDRAWAL OF PROPOSED RULES

OLYMPIC COLLEGE

On January 9, 2025, a federal district court issued a decision vacating the Department of Education's 2024 final rule implementing Title IX federal regulations. Consistent with the court's order, the 2024 Title IX regulations are not effective in any jurisdiction.

As a result, this communication serves as formal notice that Olympic College's [proposal, WSR 25-01-142, is withdrawn and the] public hearing for Title IX regulations that was scheduled for Friday, January 31, at 2:30 p.m. at Olympic College has been canceled.

The cancellation notice has also been posted prominently on the college campus; distributed electronically to all college faculty, staff, student government, and union representatives; posted on the college's website; and sent to the local newspaper publication, the Kitsap Sun.
