WSR 25-05-086
WITHDRAWAL OF
PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
[Filed February 18, 2025, 1:57 p.m.]
This memo serves as notice that the Washington state board of nursing (board) is withdrawing the CR-101 for nursing assistant (NA) skills testing, chapter 246-841A WAC, which was filed on September 27, 2024, and published as WSR 24-20-087.
The board is withdrawing this CR-101 because its scope is limited to integrating skills testing to NA training programs. However, additional critical topics must be addressed, including changes to the specialty curricula rule requirements in WAC 246-841A-440 (1)(c). The board intends to file a new CR-101 to address these broader objectives, including potential impacts from legislation passed during the 2025 legislative session and other related priorities.
Background: In 2023, the board adopted changes to WAC 246-841A-440 requiring NA training programs to implement a common curriculum, including a specialty curricula. The current CR-101 must be withdrawn to enable the development of a new CR-101 that effectively addresses:
The integration of skills testing within training programs.
Changes to the specialty curricula rule requirements.
Any impacts resulting from legislation passed during the 2025 legislative session and other related priorities.
Individuals requiring information on this rule should contact Jessilyn Dagum, policy analyst, at 360-236-3538.
