On page 1, line 12, after "handicap" insert "or, membership in any other discrete group which is commonly known to be the object of widespread prejudice, bias, or discrimination as delineated by the criminal justice training commission in the commission's training course. "
EFFECT: Protections of the malicious harassment statute are extended to members of any other discrete group that are commonly known to be the object of widespread prejudice, bias, or discrimination as delineated by the criminal justice training commission in the commission's training course. Specific reference to sexual orientation as an identified group is deleted.

"bisexuality" on page 2, line 20.
EFFECT: The amendment is continued that adds other discrete
group under the protection of the malicious harassment statute and deletes specific reference to "sexual orientation" from the statute. The definition of "sexual orientation is deleted.

EFFECT: The amendment is continued that adds other discrete group under the protection of the malicious harassment statute and deletes specific reference to "sexual orientation" from the statute. The sheriffs and police chiefs must collect hate crimes data on these other groups as well as the specifically identified groups.
