      On page 2, line after line 24, strike all material through "once." on page 3, line 8, and insert:

       "After being counted, the votes cast in any single precinct may not be recounted more than twice."

EFFECT:  Removes directive to limit recounts to one when the election or ballot measure is in a jurisdiction of a single county or for a statewide office or ballot measure in a jurisdiction that encompasses more than one county.  Limits to twice the number of times votes can be recounted in any single precinct.
