     On page 3, after line 18, insert:

     "(3)  No legislator may receive more than five days per diem between the second Monday of January of each odd-numbered year and the second Monday of February in each odd-numbered year, unless the legislature is convened in regular or special session during that time."

EFFECT:  The amendment is intended to reduce the incentive for the legislature to use the extra month  as if the regular session length had been increased to 135 days.
