On page 4, line 2, after "received." insert:
"(3) Able-bodied recipients of aid to families with dependent children who have completed a high school or GED degree or are over twenty years of age and have received benefits for six months shall participate in community enhancement activities. The maximum number of hours required per month shall be determined by dividing the grant level by three times the higher of the state or federal minimum wage. For the purposes of this section, "community enhancement activity" means work for nonprofit organizations such as food banks, shelters, senior citizen programs, and cities. A recipient is exempt from this section if (1) he or she is the parent of a child under three months of age, living in the home; or (2) child care is needed for the recipient to participate, but licensed or certified child care is not available; or (3) transportation to and from child care is needed for recipient's child and there is no transportation available; or (4) the recipient is enrolled in a job training program recognized by the department and is making satisfactory progress."
The Secretary of the Department of Social and Health services shall be responsible for coordinating the implementation and enforcement of this subsection."
