     On page 39, after line 12, insert:

     "(10) The department shall transfer clients of the chore services program to the personal care program if the individual is financially and programmatically eligible for the personal care program, except that the department shall not transfer chore services clients who cannot be served through the personal care program due to a geographic factor which makes impractical their participation in the personal care program."

EFFECT:  Increases the general fund--state appropriation by $225,000, decreases the general fund--federal appropriation by $375,000 and decreases the total by $150,000.  The increase is intended to provide moneys sufficient for CHORE services to clients who would otherwise be transferred to the Personal Care program if geographic factors make it difficult for them to participate in the Personal Care program.
