     On page 1, beginning on line 20 of the committee amendment, after "agreeing" strike the remainder of subsection (2) and insert "to a clause in a public works contract that requires submission of a dispute arising under the contract to arbitration."

EFFECT:  Deletes language that would have permitted the parties to mutually agree to arbitration only after a dispute arises in connection with the contract, and substitutes new language that permits the parties to agree to a contract clause requiring arbitration of disputes under the contract.
