    On page 17, after line 3 of the amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  A new section is added to chapter 70.96A RCW to read as follows:

    In a judicial proceeding for involuntary commitment or detention, or in a proceeding challenging a commitment or detention, the prosecuting attorney for the county in which the proceeding was initiated shall represent the individuals and agencies petitioning for commitment or detention and shall defend all challenges to a commitment or detention."

    Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
