BACKGROUND:

 

Fin fish aquaculture project proponents may be required to obtain shoreline management substantial development permits and they may be required to obtain national pollution discharge elimination system permits.  Appeals of decisions of either of these permits are currently handled through separate proceedings.

 

The fish farming industry would like to combine the permits appeal processes for these two permits.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Fin fish project appeals of state or federal discharge permits and shoreline management substantial development permits shall be combined if filed within a 30-day period.
