BACKGROUND:
After two major rainstorms in November 1990, Governor Gardner declared a state of emergency in 19 counties. President Bush signed a presidential disaster declaration to cover these 19 counties. In December 1990, a third storm accompanied by high winds caused a great deal of additional damage. Governor Gardner extended the state of emergency to cover the damage from the December storm.
SUMMARY:
President Bush is requested to extend his presidential disaster declaration to include the December storm.
