BACKGROUND:
The Department of Fisheries in conjunction with the Pacific Fisheries Management Council may set the minimum length of commercial troll caught chinook salmon for Pacific Ocean fisheries. Current minimum length for troll caught chinook is 28 inches.
There is interest in extending the current 28 inch minimum size to all troll fisheries.
SUMMARY:
Chinook salmon shall be a minimum of 28 inches to be retained in any commercial troll fishery.
