BACKGROUND:
The Washington Clean Air Act bans the burning of certain materials that may cause adverse impacts upon human health and the environment.
A person who violates the act may incur criminal penalties (misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor) or civil sanctions (fine not to exceed $1,000 per day).
SUMMARY:
Natural or synthetic fabrics, including any flag made of these fabrics, may not be burned in any residential solid fuel burning device or in an outdoor fire.
