Brief Description:  Relating to the deposition of fees into the state wildlife fund.

BACKGROUND:

 

The Department of Wildlife has not had a fee increase in hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses since 1985.

 

Additional revenue is needed to continue wildlife programs at current levels.

 

SUMMARY:

 

A surcharge of 15 percent is placed on all hunting, fishing and trapping licenses and tags.  Revenue from the surcharge is dedicated to consumptive wildlife programs.  A $20 surcharge is placed on western Washington pheasant permits, with the revenue dedicated to pheasant farms. 

 

The fee for personalized license plates is increased $10 and the revenue is utilized for nonconsumptive wildlife programs.
