BACKGROUND:

The Governor gained the authority to appoint the Director of Wildlife in 1987.  Prior to that time the Game Commission, now the Wildlife Commission, had the authority to select the director.

SUMMARY:

The Wildlife Commission will select the Director of Wildlife and the director shall serve at the pleasure of the Wildlife Commission.
