     AN ACT Relating to continuing education credit requirements; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.415 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.415 RCW to read as follows:

     Credit earned by educational staff associates for taking courses may be used to fulfill any applicable continuing education certification credit requirements if:  (1) The course may be used for continuing education credit needed to maintain a professional license; or (2) the course is sponsored by a state or national association, the association is awarding professional continuing education credit to course participants, and the educational staff associate is employed as a psychologist, communication disorder specialist, nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, counselor, or social worker.
