     AN ACT Relating to college and university fees; and adding a new section to chapter 28B.15 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28B.15 RCW to read as follows:

     Any person who begins serving in the United States peace corps after August 31, 1991, shall pay the tuition and fee rate in effect for the fall term of the year that the person entered the peace corps if:

     (1) The person qualified as a resident student under RCW 28B.15.012 when the student began serving in the peace corps; and

     (2) The person returned to Washington within one year after reentering the United States subsequent to peace corps service.
