AN ACT Relating to the license fees of real estate brokers, real estate salespersons, and professional engineers; amending RCW 18.85.220 and 18.43.150; and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
Sec. 1. RCW 18.85.220 and 1987 c 332 s 8 are each amended to read as follows:
All
fees required under this chapter shall be set by the director in accordance
with RCW 43.24.086 and shall be paid to the state treasurer. ((The sum of
five dollars from each license fee and each renewal fee received from a broker,
associate broker, or salesperson, shall be placed in the general fund. The
balance of such fees and all other)) All fees paid under the
provisions of this chapter shall be placed in the real estate commission account
in the state treasury. All money derived from fines imposed under this chapter
shall also be deposited in the real estate commission account, shall be used
solely for education for the benefit of licensees and shall be subject to
appropriation pursuant to chapter 43.88 RCW.
Sec. 2. RCW 18.43.150 and 1985 c 57 s 5 are each amended to read as follows:
All
fees collected under the provisions of RCW 18.43.050, 18.43.060,
18.43.080, 18.43.100, and 18.43.130 and fines collected under RCW
18.43.110 shall be ((divided and twenty percent paid into the state
general fund and eighty percent)) paid into the professional engineers'
account, which account is hereby established in the state treasury to be used
to carry out the purposes and provisions of RCW 18.43.050, 18.43.060,
18.43.080, 18.43.100, 18.43.110, 18.43.120, 18.43.130, 18.43.140 and all other
duties required for operation and enforcement of this chapter. ((All
earnings of investments of balances in the professional engineers' account
shall be credited to the general fund.))
NEW SECTION. Sec. 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1993.
