     AN ACT Relating to insurance brokers; and adding a new section to chapter 48.30 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.30 RCW to read as follows:

     It is an unfair practice for any commercial property and casualty insurance company to refuse consideration of a completed application for coverage of a commercial property or casualty risk that meets the insurer's underwriting standards, for the sole reason that the application was submitted by a broker who has not previously been appointed an agent for the insurer.
