     AN ACT Relating to taxes paid by the department of wildlife; creating a new section; and repealing RCW 77.12.201 and 77.12.203.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.      The legislature finds that the department of wildlife is the only state agency that pays taxes in lieu of property taxes on the property that it owns.  The state Constitution exempts state property from taxation.  The legislature declares that an inequity exists as long as the department of wildlife property is taxed.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.      The following acts or parts of acts are each repealed:

     (1) RCW 77.12.201 and 1987 c 506 s 29; and

     (2) RCW 77.12.203 and 1990 1st ex.s. c 15 s 11, 1984 c 214 s 2, 1980 c 78 s 37, & 1965 ex.s. c 97 s 3.
