     AN ACT Relating to automobile liability insurance; and adding a new section to chapter 48.18 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.18 RCW to read as follows:

     (1) An insurer writing liability insurance coverage for private passenger automobiles shall disclose to the policyholder, at the time of first issuance and at the time of renewal of the coverage, the primary conditions or actions of the policyholder that may result in cancellation or nonrenewal of coverage.

     (2) No insurer may refuse to renew liability insurance coverage for private passenger automobiles based upon a reason that was not disclosed as required under subsection (1) of this section.
