     AN ACT Relating to capital appropriations for the city of Vancouver's Columbia river renaissance project; creating a new section; and making an appropriation.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.      The city of Vancouver's Columbia river renaissance project to develop the waterfront will improve public access to the waterfront, protect historical sites, promote tourism and job opportunities for the area, and set standards for future private and public mixed-use development.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.      The sum of eight million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1993, from the state building construction account to the department of community development for the purposes of this act.  The appropriation in this section is contingent upon the receipt of three dollars from nonstate sources for each dollar spent from this appropriation.
