     AN ACT Relating to granting authority to the department of community development to extend the deadline for adopting a comprehensive plan under the growth management act by up to one year; and adding a new section to chapter 36.70A RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.70A RCW to read as follows:

     The department may extend the date by which a county or city is required to adopt a comprehensive plan under RCW 36.70A.040 by up to one year.
