HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 91-4645, by Representatives Jacobsen and Cole

 

     WHEREAS, The State of Washington understands the importance of teamwork in public schools; and

     WHEREAS, The quality of work done by paraprofessional staff is an integral part of that teamwork; and

     WHEREAS, Paraprofessional staff provide invaluable service to students and to certificated staff, through direct instruction, testing, recordkeeping, and preparation of materials; and

     WHEREAS, Educational paraprofessionals are very deserving of public recognition similar to that accorded other public school employees;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby declare March 13, 1991, as Paraprofessional Day, and officially recognize and congratulate all those public school paraprofessionals who dedicate so much of their time and energy for the betterment of our public schools and our children; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to all of Washington's school districts so that their paraprofessionals may be made aware of it.
