HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 92-4761, by Representatives Prentice, Heavey, Anderson, Leonard, Nelson, O'Brien and Wineberry

     WHEREAS, Sea Mar Health Community Health Centers have provided high quality, culturally sensitive health care and social services for Hispanics, the elderly, mothers and their babies, and economically disadvantaged persons throughout Western Washington since 1978; and

     WHEREAS, The Board of Directors, administration, and staff of Sea Mar Community Health Centers have unselfishly dedicated their time and efforts towards the good health and betterment of all disadvantaged persons; and

     WHEREAS, Sea Mar Community Health Centers have received national recognition for their achievements in the management and delivery of ambulatory, home health, obstetrical, dental, and family health care and social services; and

     WHEREAS, Sea Mar Community Health Center's model residency program, in affiliation with Providence Hospital, has provided culturally sensitive medical training to a new generation of physicians; and

     WHEREAS, Sea Mar Community Health Center currently serves over 25,000 persons annually and continues to expand its needed culturally sensitive health and social services;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State House of Representatives formally acknowledge and honor the president of the Board of Directors, Gregory Ma, the Executive Director, Rogelio Riojas, the entire staff, and the clients and patients of Sea Mar Community Health Centers for their contributions to the better health and well-being of the citizens of the State of Washington; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to the Board of Directors of Sea Mar Community Health Center.
