     AN ACT Relating to mobile home insurance proceeds; and adding a new section to chapter 48.30 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.30 RCW to read as follows:

     Prior to payment of any insurance proceeds to the owner of a mobile home renting a mobile home lot in a mobile home park, for damage or destruction to the mobile home, the owner shall repair the damaged mobile home or remove the damaged or destroyed mobile home, whichever is necessary, to comply with chapter 59.20 RCW.  The landlord shall verify to the insurance company in writing that the owner has complied with this section prior to any payment.
