AN ACT Relating to purchase of additional teaching materials; and making an appropriation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. The sum of twenty-five million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1993, from the budget stabilization account to the superintendent of public instruction for the purposes of replacement of out-of-date teaching materials. The appropriation in this section is subject to the following conditions and limitations:
(1) In no case may this appropriation be used to purchase computers or computer equipment.
(2) The superintendent shall by January 1, 1992, and again by January 1, 1993, report to the legislature and make an accounting as to the school districts that have received allocations of this appropriation, and as to the kinds of teaching materials each school district has purchased with its allocation.
