     AN ACT Relating to timely registration of motor vehicles; and adding a new section to chapter 46.20 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.20 RCW to read as follows:

     The department shall inform a new resident of this state, both at the time of applying for the first Washington driver's license and at the time of receiving the license, of the person's legal obligation to register all motor vehicles within thirty days of becoming a resident under RCW 46.16.028.
