     AN ACT Relating to telecommunications devices for the hearing impaired; adding a new section to chapter 43.20A RCW; and repealing RCW 43.20A.725 and 43.20A.730.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 43.20A RCW to read as follows:

     Effective July 26, 1993, the department shall develop a program to provide TDD equipment for the hearing and speech impaired.  The department shall adopt rules on the eligibility of persons to receive such equipment.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.      Effective July 26, 1993, the following acts or parts of acts are each repealed:

(1) RCW 43.20A.725 and 1990 c 89 s 3 & 1987 c 304 s 3; and

(2) RCW 43.20A.730 and 1990 c 89 s 4 & 1987 c 304 s 4.
