HB 1012 - DIGEST

      Prohibits abandoning or discarding a fishing net in state waters.

      Provides for punishment under chapter 7.84 RCW, Natural resource infractions.

      Specifies the responsibility of the department of fisheries to recover abandoned or lost nets.

      Creates the fishing net recovery fund for deposit of an annual lost fishing net recovery tax.

      Takes effect January 1, 1992.
