      Revises the method for deductions from the salary of a member of the state legislature or a state official eligible for the combined pension and annuity provided by RCW 41.32.497 or 41.32.498.

      Establishes procedures to qualify member's beneficiary for benefits when the member dies in the line of duty in "Operation Desert Shield."

      Specifies conditions for credit for prior service as a law enforcement officer or fire fighter.
