HB 1303 - DIGEST

      Directs the vocational agriculture education service area to encourage greater student and teacher knowledge of environmentally sensitive agricultural and landscaping practices, water conservation, and agricultural worker protections.

      Authorizes the superintendent of public instruction to grant funds to school districts to achieve the stated goals.

      Encourages the provision of in-service training programs for vocational agricultural instructors.

      Requires the vocational agricultural programs to consult with a local advisory council.

      Requires four-year institutions of higher education to recognize the relevance of vocational agriculture education courses in developing admission standards.

      Makes various appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
