HB 1350 - DIGEST

     Places special emphasis on conservation measures which will restore salmon resources in Hood Canal, with particular emphasis on chinook and coho salmon stocks.

     Requires all licensed commercial fishers to purchase a Hood Canal commercial salmon fishing permit.

     Sets the fee for the permit at one hundred dollars and limits the number of permits issued annually.

     Directs an enhanced program of fisheries patrol on Hood Canal to achieve a higher level of compliance with department rules.

     Authorizes a limitation on the types of commercial fishing gear used in Hood Canal.
