HB 1418 - DIGEST

 

      Directs the department of social and health services to conduct an evaluation of the family reconciliation services program.

      Directs the department to expand the program to serve an additional one thousand families.

      Requests the administrator for the courts to develop a curriculum on at-risk youth for superior court judges and personnel.

      Encourages better coordination between agencies providing services to at-risk youth.

      Declares that involuntary treatment of minors with substance abuse problems or mental problems is sometimes necessary for their protection and well-being.

      Establishes a continuum of services pilot project for youth in one region.

      Makes various appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
