HB 1478 - DIGEST

      Authorizes a parent or guardian to petition a superior court to commit a child to a secure hospital facility for seventy-two hours to evaluate the child for possible substance abuse.

      Provides for commitment to an inpatient treatment facility for sixty days for addicted children.

      Directs the governor to appoint a task force to study treatment methods for addicted children.

      Requires a report by December 31, 1991.
