HB 1640 - DIGEST
Provides that no person may make contributions to a candidate, and no candidate may accept contributions, except during the campaign period for the election for which contributions are accepted or made.
Limits personal contributions to an aggregate of three hundred fifty dollars.
Limits political party contributions to an aggregate of forty cents multiplied by the number of eligible registered voters in the district.
Limits contributions to political action committees.
Prohibits solicitation or acceptance of a contribution by a state- wide elected official or state legislator during legislative sessions.
Establishes requirements for payment of campaign debts.
Restricts acceptance of gifts or honorariums.
Requires political action committees to file reports summarizing its activities for the preceding year.
Directs the committee to conduct audits and field investigations to assess the level of compliance with the chapter.
Makes an appropriation of an unspecified amount to carry out the purposes of the act.
Repeals RCW 42.17.100, 42.17.105, and 42.17.175.
Takes effect December 1, 1992.
