HB 1667 - DIGEST

      Establishes the college promise program to be administered by the higher education coordinating board with the purpose of ensuring that no resident will be denied a college or university education due to his or her financial status.

      Establishes standards for classifying families by income levels.

      Authorizes the board to design and implement a demonstration project to assist needy first generation college students to obtain a baccalaureate degree.

      Makes appropriations to carry out the purposes of the act.
