HB 1876 - DIGEST

      Establishes a pilot program for educational opportunity grants to economically disadvantaged families.

      Implements the program in Seattle, Tacoma, and Spokane and specifies increasing number of grants through the 1994-95 school year.

      Directs payment of the grants directly to parents or to educational opportunity foundations.

      Requires reports by January 10, 1993, and on January 10, 1995.

      Makes an appropriation of two million eight hundred thousand dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
